The Bastion is well situated here in New Hampshire and pretty much has a front-row seat to our long standing First in the Nation Primary. The season has officially begun and the candidates are starting to line up. We plan on bringing as much information as comes our way to present to you, our readers. Keep in mind that as we share materials and reports, we are not anywhere close to endorsing a particular candidate over another. The Bastion Beavers are a diverse group, and we will most likely have our individual favorites that may not line up with one another. This will not prevent us from covering any candidate that comes our way.
Add another one to the list…
It looks like Vivek Ramaswami will be jumping into the race for the Republican nomination for president. I had a chance to hear him this week on Jack Heath’s morning radio show and he certainly casts an appealing message. At 37 years old, he just barely makes the cut for the minimum age to make the run. That said, he certainly brings a list of accomplishments to the table that would make someone three times his age envious.
Vivek is an American business leader and New York Times bestselling author of Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America’s Social Justice Scam, along with his second book, Nation of Victims: Identity Politics, the Death of Merit, and the Path Back to Excellence.
Left leaning media has called him the “intellectual godfathers of the anti-woke movement” (Politico) and the “right’s leading anti-ESG crusader” (Axios and Bloomberg). He was dubbed “The C.E.O. of Anti-Woke,” by the New Yorker and has been described by the Federalist Society as “one of the most compelling conservative voices in the country.” These movements are now popularized in mainstream conservative thought.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he often recounts the sage advice from his father: “If you’re going to stand out, then you might as well be outstanding.” This set the course for his life: a nationally ranked tennis player, and the valedictorian of his high school, St. Xavier. He went on to graduate summa cum laude in Biology from Harvard and received his J.D. from Yale Law School, while working at a hedge fund, then started a biotech company, Roivant Sciences, where he oversaw the development of five drugs that went on to become FDA-approved.
In 2022, he founded Strive, an Ohio-based asset management firm that directly competes with asset managers like BlackRock, State Street, Vanguard and others, use the money of everyday citizens to advance environmental and social agendas that many citizens and capital owners disagree with.
Like President Trump, he is certainly an outsider that poses a definite contrast to the many lifelong politicians and bureaucrats that make up our present system of government. Is that a good thing? Many people out there surely think so- at least in my circles. And therein lies the rub: the SYSTEM protects itself and its denizens. If Vivek catches on, the resistance and pushback will be fierce! We’ll have to stay tuned on this for sure.
Meanwhile, here’s a video where you can see and listen to him yourself. Like several others we have been writing about lately, he’s a very interesting and articulate person.
It looks like we are in for a lively First in The Nation primary here in the Granite State where we will have a front row seat to the action. We should have many quality and exciting contenders from which to choose. It will end up being a difficult decision…
